Tree Planting Request

You can request a new street tree to be planted on the county-owned road allowance in front or beside your house free of charge. There are a limited number of trees available each year and applicants will be selected based on the most suitable sites for the species available. Trees will be chosen from the Haldimand County street tree species list.

Apply by the end of December to be eligible for the following Spring planting season (April-May). To be eligible for a free tree, you must be within Haldimand County's urban boundaries.

We have a diverse list of approved tree species that we plant. Tree species, number of trees planted, and planting location(s) will be determined by our Forestry Department. You are welcome to include your preferred tree species or preferred location below. While we do our best to accommodate resident preferences, we cannot guarantee you will receive one of your preferred species.

A member of our Forestry team will review the property and determine the number of trees and what species will best suit the location.
