Tax Rebate for a Charitable Organization

Use this form to request a local tax rebate from the Corporation of Haldimand County for a charitable or similar organization.
To be eligible, you must be a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, have a valid Revenue Canada Charitable Registration Number, and your property must be classified within the Commercial or Industrial Property Tax Class.

A new application form is required annually.
This application is due by the last day of February of the year following the taxation year to which the application relates.

You can save and return to complete this application. 

To complete this application you must provide the following:

  • The charitable registration number.
  • Total square footage of the building and total eligible square footage.
  • Total property taxes paid for the property, and total property taxes paid by the Charity for the rebate year.
  • The registered property owner's information including name/company, phone and email address.
  • A tax reconciliation statement prepared by the property owner that includes the eligible tax amount and how this is determined.
  • If you are a tenant you must provide a copy of the executed lease agreement or a signed letter from the landlord confirming all information indicated in this application. Please submit only relevant sections which identify all parties, terms and conditions, occupancy space and periods, property tax obligations, and signature pages.

This form requires a digital signature from a signing authority on behalf of the charitable organization.
